Forecaster AI — Disclosures

DRAFT v1.0.1 (2026-10-27) — attorney review required. Forecaster AI is a product of Griffin Keystone LLC (Michigan).

⚠️ Not an official warning service

Forecaster AI is not the National Weather Service and is not endorsed by any government agency. Forecasts can be wrong, and alerts can arrive late or not at all. Don't rely on this app to protect your life or property. In an emergency call 911. For official warnings use weather.gov, NOAA Weather Radio, your phone's Wireless Emergency Alerts, and local officials.

How "Rogue" works — and how good it is so far

Rogue is a statistical forecast, not a crystal ball and not a trained neural network. Every hour it records what several computer models plus the NWS forecast predicted, checks those predictions against the nearest NWS weather station once the time arrives, and learns each model's typical error for your area. It switches to its corrected numbers only after they beat a plain average of the models on data the corrections were not built from.

Our server also runs the same check by itself once a day for 12 US cities, so a new phone near one of those cities starts with measured corrections instead of none.

Evidence so far (honest): in the 7 days ending October 27, 2026, forecasts 1–2 days ahead, average temperature miss:

Place (station) Plain model average Rogue corrected Official best-match
Laingsburg, MI (KLAN) 2.00 °F 1.89 °F 2.58 °F
Kansas City, MO (KMKC) 2.63 °F 2.02 °F 2.86 °F
Denver, CO (KBJC) 2.97 °F 3.15 °F 4.16 °F

In Denver the corrections made things worse, so Rogue uses the plain average there. That is one week in three places — far too small to prove anything. Rogue may be less accurate than the official forecast where you are. The app shows Rogue's own running score for your area.

AI chat

The chat assistant is an AI language model. By default it runs on your phone (the model is downloaded once and nothing you type leaves the device). If you add your own Groq API key, your message and a weather summary are sent to Groq, Inc. AI answers can be wrong or out of date.

Voice and language

Rogue's voice uses your device's text-to-speech. Some personality styles are sarcastic or insulting by design. Swearing is off or mild unless you turn on "Uncensored," which is for adults only.

Background alerts (Android app)

The Android app checks the forecast about every 15 minutes at best; Android can delay checks when the phone is idle or in battery-saver mode. Alerts are based on raw computer-model forecasts plus official NWS warnings — not Rogue's corrections. No rain/snow heads-ups between 11 PM and 6 AM (storms and official warnings still come through). "Loud" mode plays on your alarm volume and can be heard when your phone is on silent.

The Android app is installed outside Google Play

It isn't reviewed by Google Play. Android will ask you to allow the install and may warn that the developer is unknown. Download it only from https://forecaster-ai-storm-chaser.netlify.app/download/.

Experimental science features

Space-weather readings (Kp, solar wind, X-rays, etc.) are real NOAA/NASA data. Any link between space weather and your local weather shown in the app is an experiment Rogue is testing, not established science; the app shows the measured result, including when there's no effect.

What we don't claim

We do not claim Forecaster AI is more accurate than the National Weather Service or any other forecast. Any accuracy number shown in the app is measured by the app itself and labeled with how much data it's based on.
